Something for everyone on offer: a discovery trail to find the lost manuscript using clues and games to be found in all parts of the Abbey and its gardens; stone-cutting workshops (to create medieval motifs) for beginners, a quiet green valley for picnics beside the stream and wide open spaces for lots of fun for everyone!

Can you find the lost manuscript?

Are you between 7 and 12 years old? Help Brother Rémi to find his precious manuscript by means of clues and games. This amusing trail gives an opportunity to learn about the medieval period, the monks' daily life, Romanesque and Gothic art and the architectural changes through the ages, from the Middle Ages to the 19th century.

Murder at Fontdouce!

In 1305 a secret meeting took place at Fontdouce between King Philippe le Bel and Archbishop Bertrand de Goth with the aim of conspiring against the Templars. That night a monk was found dead in the Fontdouce gardens. Who killed him? Using which weapon? With what aim? It is up to you to find which of the six suspects is guilty using the different riddles and clues to be found around the Abbey.

and take the results of your own stone-cutting home with you!

Open to all, the stone-cutting workshop is a fun way of discovering an exciting activity. Using a local soft stone, everyone can enjoy learning how to copy medieval motifs common in Romanesque art and architecture.

Every Wednesday and Friday afternoon for those aged 9 and over from 2.30 p.m. in July and August.
